Mission Statement & Goals

Mission Statement:

The Princeton Independent Business Alliance is a voluntary, cooperative effort of independent, local businesses who use education, networking, and citizen involvement to positively promote our independent businesses, help our community prosper, and contribute to a diverse, healthy, and stable economy

Our Goals:

• To emphasize the importance of independent businesses and encourage shopping locally first.
• To work directly with the City of Princeton to improve the business environment of the Princeton area. To act as one voice for our members in encouraging decisions by the City that will benefit independent businesses.
• To encourage creation of new businesses, or relocation of existing businesses to Princeton, that will enhance the downtown business districts.
• To encourage a high standard of presentation and customer service among members, and to identify and promote that higher standard to the public as a benefit of doing business with alliance members.
• To protect and nurture the unique flavor of the Princeton area’s independently owned businesses.
• To provide members with the advantages of cooperation without compromising independence.
• To facilitate cooperative advertising, marketing, public relations, and educational opportunities for our business members.
• To provide a forum for the discussion and resolution of problems confronting alliance members.
